Oct. 1: NYU NLG & PILC Legal Observer Training

Posted on

The NYU chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and the Public Interest Law Center will be holding a Legal Observer training on Thursday, October 1st at 1:10 pm in Furman Hall 216. Food will be provided!

NLG Legal Observers attend protests and demonstrations to record the acts of law enforcement, including arrests, use of force, and any other behavior that restricts demonstrators’ ability to express their political views. The Legal Observer program is part of a network of NLG attorneys and law students who work to protect constitutional rights and ensure that demonstrators are given due process. (You also get a cool green hat!)

Please fill out this form to sign up for the training.

Note: To act as a Legal Observer, you must be a member of the NLG-NYC chapter. We can reimburse the costs for the $15 law student annual membership fee- just send us a copy of the receipt. You can become a member here.

Date: Thursday, October 1
Time: 1:10 PM – 2:10 PM
