For the 2026-27 grant cycle, NYU students, NYU adjunct faculty members, and A/P/A Institute visiting scholars and research affiliates may apply for up to $2,000 to support field work, research, or conference participation.
The application requirements are as follows:

A one to two-page project description. The description should demonstrate how the applicant’s project or conference participation will advance the field of Asian/Pacific/American studies and contribute to existing scholarship.

A detailed budget outlining how the applicant plans to use the grant funds, along with a list of any other funding sources.

A signed letter of recommendation (preferably from an academic advisor or faculty member supervising the project, to be emailed by the recommender to amitam@nyu.edu by the application deadline). Letters of recommendation are not required for Visiting Scholars, but are required for all other applicants, including Research Affiliates.
