Position description
This position will provide an opportunity to work with Professor César Rodríguez-Garavito and Adjunct Professor Ashley Nemeth on climate change and adaptation research for a scholarly article.
The Research Assistant will primarily support the professors with research, writing, and article editing. Duties include:
- Conduct research on adaptation laws and related case law;
- Conduct research on miscellaneous climate change topics, including extreme heat, environmental impact assessments, polluter pays litigation, and attribution science;
- Edit a draft scholarly article, including footnotes.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
The selected applicant will be expected to devote approximately 5-10 hrs/week, on average, to the responsibilities listed above.

Eligibility and Skills Sought
- NYU Law student currently enrolled in any program with availability to join the team immediately.
- Familiarity with Bluebooking.
- Incoming third-year law students as well as candidates with academic or work-related experience in human rights law, international law, and international or domestic environmental law are highly encouraged to apply.
Terms & Timeline
- Research Assistants will be compensated at $17 /hour.
- Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, with a strong preference for an early June start date.
