Below is a list of some important deadlines for rising 3Ls (JD Class of 2027) applying for clerkships starting on June 8, 2026. For complete details and links to forms, please see the email we sent on Thursday, May 21.
DEADLINES:
May 27 (or as soon thereafter as possible) – Send updated law school transcripts to recommenders
May 27 by 9:00 AM Eastern Time – Top-Ten List of Judges due
June 2 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time – Deadline to submit paper applications on CSM for the paper ONLY judges
June 3 – Deadline to start your OSCAR applications by selecting your judges and beginning an application for each judge by attaching your resume and selecting the names of your recommenders
June 4 by 11:59 PM Eastern – Final judge list due for judges who accept email or do not have a listing posted
June 4 – If you plan to express mail a paper application to a paper ONLY judge and not have NYU submit the application, you should send the application directly to chambers by two-day express mail for arrival on June 8
June 7 or before noon Eastern Time on June 8 – Complete and finalize all OSCAR applications and prepare all email applications
June 8 at 12:00 noon Eastern Time – OSCAR releases your applications; you should submit your email applications; paper applications should arrive in chambers
June 8 (or as soon thereafter as possible) – Calls and emails to chambers for outreach to judges can begin on this day
