Since Fall 2020, the ABA Taxation Section’s Transfer Pricing Committee has run a successful educational outreach program: Transfer Pricing: From Classroom to Boardroom (TPc2b) – a first-of-its-kind mentorship program pairing graduate law (JD or LLM) and economics/finance students interested in transfer pricing with in-house corporate tax and transfer pricing leaders trained in law, accounting, and economics.
The goal of TPc2b is to educate and nurture a diverse and well-rounded next generation of transfer pricing professionals by providing opportunities for real-world grounding and a cross-disciplinary view of tax and transfer pricing alongside their classroom studies.
TPc2b has been very successful and will return in fall 2026, with a new cohort of motivated, mature students inclined toward international tax and transfer pricing. Please see the following documents: (1) program guidelines that describe the basics of the program and the application requirements; and (2) a 2022 Tax Notes article that recaps the program (and includes original work from the mentees). There is also an ABA program website: Transfer Pricing Mentoring (TP C2B) (note that the website will be updated shortly to state that the application window is open – we are currently accepting applications, so there’s no need for students to wait to apply).
Prospective mentees should submit a resume and a cover letter by email to ABATPMentoring@gmail.com no later than September 25, 2026, to facilitate mentorship pairings in October.
If you have any questions, please email Thomas Bettge (tbettge@kpmg.com).
