The Fellowship Program
Moelis Fellows will gain access to a range of experience across the non-profit , government, and private sectors through:  (i) a summer internship working for a non-profit organization, government agency, or private entity in a major urban center,  that focuses on community development and/or investment consistent with the mission of the Fellowship ; (ii) a term-time internship at a relevant non-profit organization, government agency, or business organization; (iii) a one-semester position as a Research Assistant at the NYU Furman Center; and (iv) participation in the “Land Use, Housing and Community Development in New York City Seminar” (or other law school course that is aligned with the student’s interests and consistent with the focus of the Moelis Fellowship).
Three fellows will be selected from the 1L class. Each will receive $10,000 for their 1L summer internship, $4,000 for their work as a Research Assistant at the NYU Furman Center, and $5,000 for their term-time internship at a non-profit, government, or business organization.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit the following materials by Friday, November 1, 2024
  1. a resume; and
  2. a short personal statement (500 words maximum) describing your interest in working in community development and/or investment.
Materials should be emailed to gail.zweig@nyu.edu. Finalists will receive invitations to interview by mid-November.  Three Moelis Fellows will be notified of their selection in early December.
 
Please note:  Moelis Fellows must spend their 1L summers working on community development and/or investment issues consistent with the mission of the Fellowship.  Applicants should keep this requirement in mind.
