Registration for 1L Reading Groups begins Wednesday, August 16 at 1:30 pm New York time. The deadline to register for 1L Reading Groups is Wednesday, August 23 at 9:30 am New York time.
1L Reading Groups are a special opportunity to explore a topic beyond the standard curriculum in the context of a small group led by a faculty member (or two). The groups typically meet four times over the course of the year.
Reading Groups are optional. While the workload and time demands of these groups are relatively modest, the rewards are likely to be large—both the intrinsic rewards of engaging with an interesting set of new ideas, and the instrumental rewards of developing a relationship with a faculty member who might turn out to be a resource, mentor, and source of further opportunities as you proceed in law school. Plus it’s just fun.
