Courses: Law and Society in China Seminar, Human Rights in China Seminar
Details:The professor is seeking a student to assist with research on comparative studies concerning legal resistance to authoritarianism. In the context of authoritarian resilience (China and Russia) and democratic backsliding in both emerging (Eastern European countries) and established democracies (The U.S?), the professor is exploring how legal institutions and professionals mobilize their resources to either entrench the existing legal space or counteract authoritarian encroachments.
