***This session has past, but the recording is available here.***

If you are interested in participating in intensive pro bono research projects during winter or spring break, please join PILC and pro bono host organizations over zoom as they introduce their projects and learn more about the application process.

When: November 12, 2024 from 12 to 1 PM.

Background and Application Instructions

The Intensive Pro Bono Research Projects (open to LLMs) are a great opportunity to complete pro bono work for admission to the New York State Bar, as well as for students to gain law-related experience, including direct service, conducting international law research, and drafting a research report.  We are excited to collaborate with domestic and international non-profit and intergovernmental organizations to offer legal projects for teams of students to undertake intensively during the winter or spring break.

As of November 1, 2024, the following organizations will join and discuss projects that will be offered over the Winter Break January 5-11, 2025:

Additional project(s) for the Winter Intensive may be added in advance of the application deadline; please continue to check the Pro Bono Intensive site for updates.

Each team will be given instructions on the research sought by the organization, and will work intensively over the allocated week to complete a law-related project. Participating students must commit to seeing the project (e.g., report, direct services, etc.) through to completion, which is likely to involve more than 50 hours of work total, including beyond the intensive week. However, the aim is for the project to be completed within a relatively short time frame.
