The Intensive Pro Bono Research Projects are a great opportunity to complete pro bono work for admission to the New York State Bar, as well as for students to gain experience conducting international law research and drafting a research report. We are excited to collaborate with domestic and international non-profit and intergovernmental organizations to offer legal research projects for teams of students to undertake intensively. These projects are open only to current NYU Law LLM students.
As of February 5, 2026, the following organizations will join and discuss projects that will be offered over the Spring Break, March 16-22, 2026:

Each team will be given instructions on the research sought by the organization, and will work intensively over the allocated week to prepare a report. Participating students must commit to seeing the report through to completion, which is likely to involve more than 50 hours of work total, including beyond the intensive week. However, the aim is for the project to be completed within a relatively short time frame.
Application Instructions
For each organization you apply to, please submit a single PDF that includes, 1) a brief letter of interest; and 2) resume to Carolina van der Mensbrugghe and Alaura Rich. The letter should include which organization you are applying to, what project(s) you are interested in working on, and why. When submitting one or more PDF applications, please include “Pro Bono Intensive Program Application” in the subject line of your email.
If you apply to more than one placement, please rank your placement preferences in the body of your submission email.
Applications are due by 12 PM EST Monday, March 2, 2026. Candidates will be notified of organization selections shortly thereafter.
