At the intersection of the Promise Institute for Human Rights’ work on racial justice, human rights and the protection of the environment, we are thrilled to launch U.N. Special Rapporteur on Racism E. Tendayi Achiume’s final thematic report on environmental racism and climate justice. This will be the first presentation of the Special Rapporteur’s latest report, which analyzes climate (in)justice as rooted in colonial histories and the persistent impacts of extractivism and structural racism today. The launch will be accompanied by commentary from scholars and activists on how the global climate crisis is impacting Caribbean peoples.
