Oct. 15: Environmental Justice Initiative Launch

Posted on

The Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law, together with the Guarini Center, are excited to announce the launch of the Environmental Justice Initiative, a new collaboration at NYU School of Law.  We invite you to join us for a launch event at the School of Law on October 15 in Lipton Hall/Faculty Club.  Doors open at 5:15, and the program will start at 5:30. Dean McKenzie will kick off the evening with opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion on the past, present, and future of the environmental and climate justice movements, and how the new Environmental Justice Initiative can support the effort. Our new Environmental Justice Initiative director, Marianne Engelman-Lado, will join panelists Charles Lee and Vernice Miller-Travis, both founders of the environmental justice movement, and Abre’ Connor, director of Environmental and Climate Justice at the NAACP.  The program will be followed by refreshments.

Please confirm your attendance by submitting your RSVP here: Environmental Justice Initiative Launch.
