Intesa Sanpaolo, one of the leading Italian and European financial institutions, is providing an exciting $5,000 research grant opportunity for three members of the NYU Law community. Scholars will be selected by Professor Franco Ferrari, Professor Geoffrey Miller, and Professor Deborah Burand.
Recipients will be known as NYU Law Intesa Sanpaolo Junior Scholars. Scholars will be assigned on the following research fields, and encouraged to publish their work in scholarly journals or case studies in these areas:
- Antitrust laws and compliance policies as triggering factors for the development of innovative and sustainable markets;
- Impact banking as a new development platform where business meets community needs and perspectives; and
- Green and circular economy as transition paradigms for mature economies.
Junior Scholars will have the opportunity to present their research at the Intesa Sanpaolo offices in Italy in collaboration with the staff involved in the aforementioned areas as well as attend a special Intesa Sanpaolo event in both Italy and at NYU School of Law. Intesa Sanpaolo will cover the costs of travel and fund the grants. JD students, LLM students, and NYU Law research scholars are all welcome to apply (applicants must be enrolled at NYU Law during the 2024-2025 academic year).
To apply, please send a prospectus outlining your preferred area of research and scholarly focus (within the above topics), as well as a writing sample, to the Grunin Center at law.gruninsocent@nyu.edu by Friday, March 7.
Recipients will be selected prior to the Grunin Center’s special reception with Intesa Sanpaolo at NYU Law, scheduled for April 8, and will be invited to attend.
