Job description
New York University’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) provides legal services to New York University, including all of NYU’s schools and administrative offices, NYU affiliates, NYU’s portal campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai, and all of NYU’s global academic sites. This pan-time position will provide an opportunity for students to engage with and assist attorneys in all practice areas of OGC, including litigation, labor & employment, global, corporate, intellectual property, student affairs, real estate, trusts & estates, and non-profit & tax.

Key Responsibilities: The OGC legal Intern will con::tuct legal research and draft documents in support of OGC practice areas, and in connection with matters such as: litigation by or against the University its administrators, faculty and staff; advice on general matters affecting legal rights of the University in a business context including contracts, trusts & estates, tax, real estate, labor & employment law; advice on intellectual property issues including copyright, trademark, and patent; and advice on regulatory matters involving city, state and federal law. The assignments are closely monitored to ensure that interns gain exposure to the responsibilities of in-house counsel. Every effort is made to accommodate the OGC legal intern’s desired practice areas during the internship.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Law, the hourly base salary at NYU Law School for student employment positions is $16.50 -$20.00 per hour for undergraduate and graduate students.
