Posted on

The State Government Initiative and the Public Interest Law Center are excited to announce the first event of our 2026-2027 panel series on careers in state government.

“Why America Needs You in State Government Right Now” will feature speakers from across state government, talking about their experiences and how – from early in their careers – they have been able to use levers of government to help thousands of people.

This panel will feature Ben Lazarus, Special Counsel & Chief of Staff to the Counsel to the Governor of New York; Sandra Pullman, Senior Counsel in the Civil Rights Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General; and Eric Washer, Chief of Staff to the Chief Administrative Judge, New York State Unified Court System.

The moderator will be Professor David Siffert, the Executive Director of the State Government Initiative and Democratic Nominee for New York State Assembly in the 66th Assembly District.

We’re excited to start a new academic year and get you acquainted with the work of the State Government Initiative. We hope you all can join us.
