The New York City Bar Association’s 1L Fellowship Program (the “Fellowship Program” or “Program”) is available to law students of all backgrounds who have experienced challenges on their path to a legal career. The goal of the Fellowship Program is to offer these first-year students a unique summer employment opportunity in outstanding law firms and corporate law departments. All students are welcome to apply.

Timeline:
- Application Extended Due: January 22, 2026
- Interviews (virtual): February 10, 2026
- Fellowships Awarded and Assignments Made: mid-February
Required Materials:
- Completed and signed New York City Bar 1L Fellowship Application Form;
- Resume;
- Unofficial transcripts of undergraduate, graduate (if applicable) and law school grades;
- Personal statement; and
- Writing sample prepared by the student; and
Optional Materials:
- Miscellaneous documents (e.g., letters of recommendation, other documents submitted, etc.).
