Dear Students,
On Friday, December 19 at 12:00 pm, registration for the Columbia Law School/NYU School of Law Exchange Program begins. Important information about the program, the link to the online request form, and the list of Columbia classes for which NYU students may apply to register have been posted on our Columbia Law School/NYU School of Law Exchange webpage. (Please note that S. IP Transactional Practice: Counseling, Negotiating, and Drafting requires instructor permission in addition to an application form.)
Deadline to Apply:
The deadline to submit an online application is January 5, 2026 at 10:00 am. Students will be selected randomly, with JD 3L and full-time LLM students having priority. Applications from 2Ls will be considered pending room in the program.
Please note: When selecting which course(s) to apply for, please take into account travel time between NYU and CLS. In addition, please make sure a Columbia course does not conflict with any NYU course that you are already registered for.
Spring 2026 Application Timing/Deadlines:

| Monday, January 5 at 10:00 am | Deadline to submit online application |

| Tuesday, January 20 | First day of classes at Columbia Law School |
Notification of Approval:
Columbia will notify NYU students of their approval to register by 5:00 pm on January 7, 2026. Further instructions will also be given at that time.
If you drop a Columbia Course:
Please note that Columbia classes begin January 20 and the NYU School of Law add period ends January 29 at 9:30 am. If you decide to drop your Columbia class after January 29 at 9:30 am, it will be too late to add an NYU School of Law course.
Therefore, you must be enrolled in and attending sufficient credits to remain a full-time student (12 credit hours) should you decide to drop the Columbia course.
