Dear Rising 2Ls & 3Ls,
JD Ranked Bidding will begin on Monday, June 23 at 1:30pm EST. During this bidding cycle, students will have the opportunity to bid on both fall and spring sections of the following courses: Corporations, Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility, and Property.
If you wish to register for any of these classes, you must enter your ranked preferences no later than 9:30am EST on Wednesday, June 25.
Reminder: NYU requires that all students provide two types of emergency contacts. Students will not be allowed to register for classes without this information on file in Albert. Please ensure your contact information is updated prior to Friday, June 27. For more information, please see Cell Phone & Emergency Contact Requirements.
Please keep in mind the following:
- To enter your ranked preferences, go to https://its.law.nyu.edu/classregistration
- All JD students must take Constitutional Law, Professional Responsibility, and Property to graduate. If you have not yet taken one or more of these courses, we strongly recommend ranking all available sections.
- When ranking classes, be sure to note the semester (fall or spring) and meeting times to avoid time conflicts.
Important: You cannot take the same course in both the fall and spring semesters (e.g., Constitutional Law). If you are assigned to a spring section of one of these four courses during JD Ranked Bidding, you will not be able to bid on the fall section of that course during the Fall 2025 Bidding Cycle (June 27–July 8).
You will have another opportunity to bid on these courses in the COURSES system during the Spring 2026 Bidding Cycle (August 6–August 12), after dropping the spring section. However, for these specific courses, your best chance of getting a preferred section is during this JD Ranked Bidding round.
