If you are a 2L or 3L student who has excelled in a course here at NYU Law and has a knack for teaching and breaking down concepts, we encourage you to apply to tutor a fellow student by completing theĀ survey. If you agree to act as a tutor, you will be added to our tutor registry. When a student asks for assistance in a particular class, we will then match them with an appropriate tutor. Signing up for our tutor registry does not guarantee that we will be able to pair you with a student to tutor, but we will add your name to our registry and contact you as demand requires.
- Tutors are needed for the following courses:
-
- Criminal Law
- Criminal Procedure
- Constitutional Law
- Contracts
- Corporations
- Income Tax
- Legislation and the Regulatory State
- Procedure
- Property
- Professional Responsibility
- Torts
When a student requests assistance in a particular course, we will match the student with an appropriate tutor. Tutors are paid by the Office of Student Affairs and are compensated at the rate of $16.00 per hour. Typically tutors provide 2-3 hours of tutoring per week.
Please note: Students may NOT tutor in courses in which they are currently serving as teaching assistants.
To apply to become a tutor pleaseĀ fill out this survey. You will be able to indicate the classes in which you wish to provide tutoring.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Student Affairs (law.studentaffairs@nyu.edu).
