Please see below for an opportunity from the NYU Office of Public Affairs:
The U.S. Presidential Election is less than three months away, and our effort to encourage eligible NYU students to register and vote, and to help our entire community be civically engaged, is moving at full steam.
NYU Votes is preparing an array of messaging, programming, and other outreach. But an effort like this, at a university of our size, takes a village. So I’m asking you to please designate one faculty member, one administrator, and one student from within your school or unit to serve as NYU Votes Ambassadors this fall.
The nonpartisan role will require attendance at regular Zoom meetings between late August and early November. The Ambassadors will also be asked to oversee the following within their school or unit (with guidance and resources provided by the NYU Votes team):
• Hosting lobby tabling events
• Sending reminder emails to the school community
• Posting NYU Votes fliers throughout the building(s)
• Making NYU Votes announcements before large school gatherings or events
• Providing a brief voting overview to classes at faculty members’ request
This year, NYU Votes will also utilize a digital tool called Motivote (created by NYU Wagner alums!), which helps gamify the registration, voting, and general civic engagement experience—and will allow for good-spirited competitions across schools, sports teams, clubs, and more. Details will be provided to Ambassadors on how they can help their school compete.
We are looking to fill two spots to represent the School of Law on the NYU Votes Committee. Please reach out to law.studentaffairs@nyu.edu if you are interested or have further questions about this opportunity.
