Open Global Rights RA/Web Producer

Open Global Rights (OGR) is an independent platform for analysis and opinion on international human rights issues, hosted by the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU Law. 

Position description 

This position will provide an opportunity to learn from the global community of writers that publish with Open Global Rights and affiliated events. 

The OGR web producer will primarily support the editorial team during the article publishing process:

  • Coordinate with the illustrators to produce and design a cover/imagery for the article;
  • Work with the web designers to post the article after finishing the editorial rounds;
  • Post content on social media to promote the article; 
  • Track and monitor readership and community engagement data;
  • Participate in OGR’s monthly editorial meetings. 

The selected applicant will be expected to devote approximately 5 hrs/week, on average, to the responsibilities listed above.

Application

Eligibility  

  • Currently enrolled NYU Law student with availability to join the team immediately.
  • Candidates with experience in communications, web administration, social media, community engagement, and publishing are highly encouraged to apply. But Web- and team-trainings can also be provided to candidates who lack web administration experience.
  • Fluency in additional languages is desirable but not required.

Terms 

Open Global Rights Web Producers will be compensated at $16.00/hour 

Timeline 

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and due no later than September 6, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. (ET). 
  • Short interviews will be conducted with qualified candidates 
  • Start date: As soon as possible, before September 23, 2024.
