STUDENT FELLOWS AND RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
Fall 2024
The Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging seeks applications from NYU Law students for student fellow and research assistant positions to commence in Fall 2024. The Center’s mission is to advance thought leadership on diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and the law; support the Law School community; and share knowledge with external organizations.
Student fellows
Student fellows will be involved in all aspects of the Center’s work, which could include: conducting research relating to DEI and the law under the guidance and supervision of Center leadership; working on research-backed projects to advance the Law School’s efforts on DEI; and contributing to the Center’s sharing of expertise on DEI with external organizations. Fellows will receive a stipend of $1,750 per semester and be featured on the Center’s website. The anticipated time commitment is an average of 7 hours per week over 12 weeks.
Student research assistants
Student research assistants will work for academic credit (45 hours for one credit, or 90 hours for two credits) rather than for a stipend. Work will likely focus on legal threats to DEI (such as anti-DEI lawsuits and legislative attacks) and how to ensure the field of DEI is strengthened in the current legal landscape.

Applications are due April 30, 2024 but will be considered on a rolling basis. Students from all class levels are welcome to apply.
