Feb. 19: Spring Pro Bono Intensive Application Deadline Extended

Posted on

The Intensive Pro Bono Research Projects are a great opportunity to complete pro bono work for admission to the New York State Bar, as well as for students to gain experience conducting international law research and drafting a research report.  We are excited to collaborate with domestic and international non-profit and intergovernmental organizations to offer legal research projects for teams of students to undertake intensively.  Open to current LLMs.

The following four projects will be offered over the Spring Break (March 18-24, 2024):

Each team will be given instructions on the research sought by the organization, and will work intensively over the allocated week to prepare a report. Participating students must commit to seeing the report through to completion, which is likely to involve more than 50 hours of work total, including beyond the intensive week. However, the aim is for the project to be completed within a relatively short timeframe.

Application Instructions for the Spring Intensive

  1. Please send a brief letter of interest and resume to Carolina van der Mensbrugghe (cv2199@nyu.edu) and Alaura Rich (adr9719@mercury.law.nyu.edu). The letter should include which organization you are applying to and why (multiple letters are required – one per organization – if you are applying to more than one placement). Please combine your application materials into one PDF and include “Pro Bono Intensive Program Application” in the subject line of your email. If you apply to more than one placement, please rank your placement preferences in the body of the email.
  2. Please submit all applications by 1 PM EST Monday, February 19, 2024. Candidates will be notified of organization selections shortly thereafter.
