The ILAW Network, a global network of over 1000 union and worker rights lawyers in some 88 countries, provides resources to attorneys worldwide who are supporting workers and their representatives. The ILAW Network facilitates information exchanges and promotes collaboration among its member attorneys to develop creative solutions to promote and defend workers’ rights around the world – through policy analysis, litigation, and legislation. These attorneys operate in a diversity of legal systems and cultures, but the larger goals are the same – to support workers and their organizations in the exercise of their fundamental rights by challenging repressive laws, regulations, and practices by governments or global corporations.
LLM students engage in a variety of research projects involving such topics as gender-based violence, migrant worker rights, climate change and just transition, impact of new technology in the workplace, pay equity, workers’ right to strike, domestic worker rights, et al, often focusing their research on their home countries.
