Deadline for October Exam Postponement/Accommodation Requests

Posted on

The deadline for October exam requests for postponements or accommodations is Friday, September 30th. Please submit your request via ExamReporter, our online exam request system. To submit a request, click on “Postponements” and in the section titled “Request Postponement” select the class for which you seek an exam postponement. Then select the type or reason for the requested postponement (for example: “Two Exams in One Day,” “Moses Approved Accommodation,” “Morning/Evening”). Finally, click on the “Submit” button.

You will need to submit a separate request for each applicable exam.

Results of requests submitted by the September 30th deadline will be available in ExamReporter on Friday, October 10th at 5:00pm. Results of requests submitted late will be available on a rolling basis prior to your exam. To see the status of your request, click on the “Report” tab in ExamReporter.

The detailed guidelines for postponement of examinations may be found online in the Law School’s academic policies, but here are a few things to note:

Disabilities—If you already have a Moses Approved Accommodation, please submit your request to implement your accommodation in ExamReporter as mentioned above. All students with disabilities who have yet to obtain approved exam accommodations must immediately register with the Henry & Lucy Moses Center for Student Accessibility (Moses Center”). The Moses Center is located at 726 Broadway, 2nd floor, or via phone at (212) 998-4980. Any ExamReporter requests for accommodations MUST be previously approved by the Moses Center.

Illness—Should you become ill during the exam period, any adjustments or postponements would need to be approved by the Office of Student Affairs.

To maintain your anonymity in the grading process, do not contact your faculty member if you have problems related to an exam. Instead, should you have any difficulties or extenuating circumstances involving your exam, please notify the Office of Academic Services (law.exams@nyu.edu) and provide us with a detailed explanation of your circumstances.

Thank you,

Law Exams Team
